I really think people that believe in transmasc privilege have genuinely never existed as queer irl
when I was experiencing domestic abuse, I couldn’t find a shelter that accepted me unless I detransitioned and went back into the closet. even ones that accepted trans women wouldn’t accept me. and I was literally afraid for my life.
how is that privilege?
Nah, that’s letting a lot of people off the hook who shouldn’t be.
Such as myself.
Transmasc voices and experiences are so silenced that it’s entirely possible to even be trans yourself and fail to realize that treating transmasc folks as “men, full stop” is wrong.
We fellow queers have been basically ignoring the solidarity we owe our brothers for way too fucking long. Time to fix that.
Fellow travelers, boost transmasc voices. And more importantly, listen to them before forming your ideas. If you can’t find any to listen to? That should be a huge goddamn sign that there are problems you haven’t considered.
I need to print me out a list of everything they own so I don’t buy it when I go to the store
I gotchu, and anyone else who were curious:
Thank you!!
Johnson & Johnson just needa go out of business at this point 💁🏽♀️
J&J really got a chokehold on the entire industry. Them, Disney and the Kraft corporation. They definitely got bodies in the basement.
…..*washes sunscreen off my face*
Need everyone to know J and J was one of those groups that argued that talcum powder (which included aesbestos) wasn’t hurting anyone.
(If you’re sitting there like hey wasn’t talcum powder for babies? yes it was. There was an entire litigation about them arguing that actually using talcum powder for babies which included asbestos wasn’t bad.If you’re sitting there going hey wow wouldn’t that include babies from decades ago who are now adults with sever cancer??? YUP YEAH YOUR’RE FUCKING CORRECT).
Like actually J&J should have gone out of business almost 30 years ago and its a god damn crime they still exist and can sell medicine now
J&J also has a class action lawsuit against them for their shampoo brand OGX which is arguing that many shampoos and conditioners from that brand contain formaldehyde, which causes cancer when exposed to water. Which is a vital step in showering. So I just changed shampoo brands entirely and will do my best to avoid J&J products because this is terrifying
the care bears always make fun of bedtime bear bc hes tired all the time and accidentally falls asleep but its only bc he stays up all night to make sure that everyone else sleeps well and to banish nightmares and protect people
Man called Owen Wilson made these posters (found here on Twitter) and the English are going absolutely bonkers with fury, cancelling holidays and supposedly “reporting” him to various UK authorities…and he’s just like, “off you pop,” “Wales isn’t in England” lmao
Relatedly, Denmark just put all of the UK except for Wales on the red list, apparently, and I don’t know if that was intentional or a bureaucratic mistake but my Welsh language Facebook feed is going apeshit with joy
tradwives consistently being terrible at cooking is actually true to the 1950s domesticity they idolize where the wife in those days would cover some unseemly mesh in hollandaise sauce or suspend a banana in jello as a dessert to sublimate her rage from never being able to cum
I once went to a Halloween party and I missed my turn, went one street further down.
But I had no clue because the next block looked exactly like my friend’s block. The house numbers were the same, the house facades, etc.
I was quite surprised when a stranger came to the door, and they were quite surprised since I was in my costume.
I’d argue we need less of the second, too. Give me multi-purpose / mixed-zoning neighborhoods where people can walk to the store or a restaurant or a theatre or the library or the nearest public transit artery.
I grew up in an area of endless squirrelly suburban neighbourhoods that each had an elementary school and maybe a religious building, but not even a corner store. Everyone has to drive everywhere, and children can’t get anywhere. So everyone with a job commutes via networks of freeways, and every multi-adult household has to have multiple vehicles just to run daily errands, and anyone who can’t afford a vehicle gets to use the twice daily collector shuttle to even get to a public transit artery.
Multi-purpose and mixed-zone development is infinitely more human, vibrant, and liveable. It’s not human to have our work and home lives separated by such vast distances. I am so done with residential-only neighborhoods and a preoccupation with over-large single family dwellings.
(But it damn well better not be economically stratified either, like certain cities, where everyone in the service industry has to commute in from another city. We need each other, with all our differences, including economic/means diversity.)
100% this! ^^^^. Mixed use neighborhoods where people can bike or walk from where they live to where they work or shop. Mixed densities with low cost apartments mixed in with single family homes. Real communities!
We won’t get that in America because that means accessible housing for brown and Black people 🙃
I found an old rusty USB in the basement today should I see if anything’s on it
oh we’re off to a good start
These were the only two pictures on it, like 8 folders deep.
Anyone know… Gallifreyan?????
ALSO there were a bunch of ancient (okay from 2014) SCP games on it?? and a Gameboy Emulator and a copy of the game Lifehouse, based off the concept album The Who tried to write in the 70’s, but Pete Townsend got too lost in the sauce or whatever and had a mental breakdown and never finished it
Thank u for your translation also I don’t know how to feel about this but based on the name of the USB I can’t say I’m surprised
museums should repatriate artifacts belonging to living cultures and display reproductions instead
Good afternoon,
no one is entitled to the sacred art, tools, or costumes of another culture (save members of the culture itself) and nonsacred reproductions will serve just as well for the purposes of education and appreciation
Good evening,
having museums full of reproductions would be even cooler than having museums full of sacred artifacts because when modern craftspeople are able to replicate those artifacts, it’s usually because they still make the same items the same way today
this means that you could have description tags emphasizing that such-and-such item has been made by these people in almost the same way for hundreds of years
having museums full of beautiful reproductions takes the emphasis off of Things and places it on the People who make them, which is really as it should be
no offed fence but uhh as a nonbinary lesbian i dont think attraction to nonbinary people should be a factor in determining whether you’re bisexual or gay/lesbian bc like, a descriptor like “attracted to women and nonbinary people”, while technically multiple genders, is also something that can easily apply to lesbian identity and has for a long time because nonbinary is not a homogenous gender and is much more of a very loose and wide range of identities that can trend towards either side of the binary or exist entirely independently and most every nonbinary person has a different way they want to be interpreted in a relationship
